Lǐ Liúfāng 李流芳

BiographyLi Liufang 李流芳 (Li Liu-Fang). Born in Jiading to a family originally from Anhui province. Although he earned a juren degree in 1606, he subsequently failed to pass the jinshi exams. Giving up hope of an official career, he returned to Jiading, where he built a garden estate and devoted himself to painting and poetry.
