(Mathias Komor, New York); purchased 1972 by Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, OH Notes: ¹ As part of the so-called Lawrence-Cesnola Collection. Other sales of the collection occured in 1883, 1884, and 1888. Alessandro Palma di Cesnola [1839-1914], younger brother of General Luigi Palma di Cesnola (American consul in Cyprus), entered into a partnership with Edwin Lawrence - whose daughter he later married - to finance Cesnola's excavations.Exhibition History
