Status
Not on viewClare Leighton, known for her illustrations of nineteenth-century British novels, also wrote prolifically on the virtues of rural life in an increasingly urban and industrial world. These wood engravings for a 1931 edition of Wuthering Heights combine Leighton's cherished English countryside with the brooding moors of Emily Brontë's imagination.
