On viewCelebrated for her immersive installations, Pfaff also engages with design, as evident in this work. She cuts, flips, and rearranges gridded compositions typical of Minimalist art to achieve a sense of ordered chaos. Circular motifs appear across her oeuvre—allusions to globes, breasts, and mandalas. The title of this work, Strike 2, Ball 3 , could refer to baseball or bowling, although those references are only jumping-off points for Pfaff’s unbridled exaltation of color and form.
