Status
On viewDonovan works with everyday material such as rolls of Scotch® Tape, paper cups, or, in this case, rubber bands. She arranges hundreds of such objects in repeating patterns resembling clouds, beehives, or cellular patterns. Her accumulations are often large and sculptural, sprawling across walls, floors, and ceilings. She says, “it is not like I’m trying to simulate nature. It’s more of a mimicking of the way of nature, the way things actually grow.”
