On viewAmer’s work in ceramics, bronze, paint, and textile features women with animated facial expressions, which the artist sources from pornography. Amer began collaborating with Iranian illustrator Reza Farkhondeh in 2005, combining Amer’s found pornographic images with Farkhondeh’s floral motifs. Together, the two create mixed-media prints under the moniker RFGA, reclaiming potentially degrading images of women as sites of empowerment, beauty, and joy.
