On viewSamaras is known for his assemblages of mirrors, nails, feathers, and yarn, as well as abstract photography. Both strands of his practice come together in this ghoulish reclining bronze figurine, which appears to twist and melt. The series from which it comes is among Samaras’s only work in bronze, extending his earlier exploration of iridescent materials.
