On viewPfaff is known for combining disparate materials across painting, sculpture, glassblowing, welding, and carpentry. The title of this print, La Cena , means dinner in Spanish and Italian. Other woodcuts in the same series include references to melons, potatoes, and popcorn. The botanical motifs are typical of Pfaff’s graphic work, as are the references to lattices, which evoke domestic elements such as shutters, gardens, and fences.
