The Moon-Mad Monk, or Crazy Gazing at the Moon (Kyōgetsubō 狂月坊), was a series of kyōka poems illustrated by Utamaro with a set of surimono prints. Here, the otherworldly beauty of the palace of the moon goddess is captured with embossed clouds, gold pigment (probably copper-rich brass) for the palace, and silvery metallic pigment (probably copper-rich zinc) for the bridge.
